What We Do

The Clearwater Cobrattle's are a team representing Clearwater and Pinellas County in Teamed Track Racing, created in 1948.

Teamed Track Racing was created in 1922, by a man named Edward Yates. As single racing grew in popularity, Teamed Track racing followed suit, although not as popular in the end.The Rules of Team Track Racing are fairly simple.
On the track are two teams, each consisting of five racers. The goal is to keep the leader as high in the ranks as possible, while also keeping the opposing leader as low in the ranks as possible.
Points are given based on sportsmanship, placement, and actions.
-Sportsmanship depends on how well you follow the basic rules of safety, along with how well you treat the other drivers. You can have points taken if you do not follow the sportsmanship guidelines, such as cutting off or trying to wreck other drivers.
-Placement depends on how high you are on the ranks. There are ten drivers on the track, and so there are ten ranks. The goal is to keep your leader and flanks as high up as possible to win. The lower you are in the ranks, the less points you receive.
-Actions can give or take points. An action that may gain points is successfully avoiding an disruption set by the other team while protecting the leader.

In Teamed Track Racing, there are five roles each team member fills.
-Leader: As the leader, you are in charge of staying in the lead during the race, staying as high up as possible in the ranks. Only one person in the team is the leader.
-Flanks: As a flank, it is your job to defend the Leader and ensure the opposing team doesn't sabotage them. There are two flanks on each team.
-Rears: As a rear, it is your job to sabotage the opposing team and try to get the advantage for your team. There are two rears on each team.
